Caramel Apple (Pie) Waffles

Surprise your little “trick-or-treaters” Halloween morning with this easy breakfast!

What you need:

Your favorite waffles

Apple pie filling  (homemade stewed apples work great with this!)

Caramel sauce (I microwaved caramel dipping sauce), about 2 Tbsp. per waffle

Pecan chips or pieces

Whipped topping (optional)

For Caramel Apple Waffles

  1. While waffles are toasting; warm apples in microwave in a microwave safe bowl. Next warm caramel sauce in microwave safe bowl; be careful not to bring to boil.
  2. Lay toasted waffles on serving plate, top with warm apples, drizzle with caramel and sprinkle with pecans. Serve immediately.

For Caramel Apple Pie Waffles

  1. Follow step 1 above. You will want the apples and caramel to cool slightly so that your whipped topping does not melt.
  2. Lay toasted waffles on serving plate, top with warm apples, a dollop of whipped topping, drizzle with caramel and sprinkle with pecans. Serve immediately.
