Hamburger Soup

(A recipe that my grandma made, my mom made, then I made…it’s delicious!)

Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef

1 medium onion, diced or roughly chopped

1-2 Tbsp. diced or grated garlic

1 (28oz.) can stewed tomatoes

1-2 cups tomato juice (more if you prefer)

1 can green beans, drained

1 can yellow beans, drained

1 can corn, drained

1 can peas, drained

2-3 stalks celery, diced

½ green pepper, diced

Salt and Pepper to taste

Seasoning salt to taste

Directions

  1. Brown ground beef in Dutch oven, drain.
  2. Add onion, garlic, celery, peppers and tomatoes. Mix well and simmer. When heated through, add canned vegetables, tomato juice, salt and pepper and seasoning salt.
  3. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes or until celery and peppers are soft. Add more seasoning if needed.

Always better the next day and freezes well.
