Baked Mac & Cheese with Sweet Italian Sausage
(Inner Chef Member: Douglas Combs)
2 lbs. Diced Colby Jack Cheese (diced is best, but about 4 cups of shredded would work)
1 lb. Sweet Italian Sausage (frozen) dice into bite size pieces (easier to remove casing and dice if frozen)
Minced Garlic, fresh or dried (not too much; just a light sprinkle)
½ cup Milk
1 package Egg Noodles
Boil 1 pkg. of egg noodles and 1lb. diced sweet Italian Sausage together until noodles are almost done. Drain and put in 9 X 13 baking pan. Mix in 2lbs. diced Colby Jack cheese, drizzle with 1/2 cup of milk. Season with Garlic and Pepper, mix again and bake at 350 for 45 min. Let stand for 10-15 min. before serving.
Douglas’ Tip: I baked it at 350 for 60 min. – just a tad crunchy on the top, probably 45 min enough.
