Georgia Gold Peanuts Yields: 2 ½ cups

¾ cup sugar
1 Tbsp. water
3 Tbsp. orange juice
1 tsp. grated orange rind
2 ½ cups salted peanuts
* ½ tsp. gold luster dust, optional
- Combine the sugar, water and orange juice and blend thoroughly. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally to 238 degrees on candy thermometer or to soft-ball stage. Remove from heat and add orange rind and peanuts. Stir lightly to coat peanuts with glaze.
- Turn out at once onto waxed paper and separate peanuts with a fork. Cool completely and place in zip-loc bag, sprinkle with gold dust and shake bag. Place in a pint size jar.
